I have been sewing from the age of 4, when my maternal grandmother taught me how to make worked (thread) buttonloops. Sadly, she died when I was just 9, and had stopped visiting before I was 7, so I didn't get too many lessons from her. She was a London dressmaker in the days when the Paris originals were flown in and they had 20 minutes to copy them! My other grandmother was a tailoress, so sewing is in my genes.
