Has anybody got any experience with Magic Loop method?
Althought not new to knitting on 2 needles, I have never knitted using 1 x pair of circular needles. I thought that I would use this method to knit a slouch beret as they are comfortable to wear & great at keeping my ears warm in the cold weather. I decided to do a test piece first before beginning the pattern to master the basic technique using a simple ribbing k1,p1. After much scratching my head & watching a few videos online I eventually mastered it after 3/4 rows. I was quite pleased with the results and on reviewing there seemed to be a problem at the very botton of my knitting as there appears to be step on the first row where the 1st division is made in the middle (not at the end of the row)?? It looks quite unnatural. Is this a problem that appears with normal circular knitting when passing from row 1 to row 2? Is this normal with Magic Loop knitting? If so, is there any was to remedy this? Have I made an error? I expected it is a simple thing & searched the internet & lots of websites, but have not had any success. Can anybody help? Any suggestions would be appreciated

Would you like to show a photo of what you are worried about.
You should be able to get a reasonable edge on the beret. When I knit in the round I always seem to have a loose stitch where the join happens. I put a stitch in at the end to straighten and strengthen the jpin. Usually its fine by the second and third row. |

Thank you for replying StitchAngel
It may not be very clear that the type of wool is Katia Ethnic thick/thin.

In the panel above, where the fonts etc are, under the smiley face ther is a symbol that looks like the earth with a chain link.........cut and paste a link to your image in Photobucket by touching the link symbol, put you link address in the box.
To open a Photobucket account is free and a good idea when sharing images on the Internet. It may take a little time to get used to this, but worth it. You can also download directly to T S F in the box below the posting area in ADDITIONAL OPTIONS - attach files. The images need to be fairly small 600x800 & low dpi, I use 72 or 45, good luck! |

Hmmmm. I have a very little brain as far as computers are concerned. However, I do have a man, that can. So, I will consult him, learn and execute, hopefully sucessfully.
Thanks again StitchAngel & smiley bows to you!
