It is fantastic to have a UK magazine with a modern take on sewing - I do think Sew Hip is filling a gap in the market. Although this does bring me back to the measurements issue - I would expect a UK magazine to use metric measurements throughout, or give measurements in both metric and imperial for each project. I expect to have to sit and convert projects from my US-published craft books, but it's ever so frustrating to have to do it with a UK publication!
I had the hippo as well - horrible instructions (and super-scary as it was my first toy making project) but I loved the end result. I've also made an A-line skirt, a couple of quilts, and.... I think there was another toy but I've forgotten which one.
