Thanks for that Marian.

I am interested to hear you say make the boning as long as you can possibly fit into the channel because I found when I did this the finished garment seemed to have little 'bulges' poking up above the finished edge where the boning was - bit of a give-away to where it was. How do I get past that? If you sew it directly onto the lining what stitch do you use and how long do you decide to leave the boning then? After much frustration at it turning I attached the top and bottom 2" of the boning with a zig-zag stitch which seemed to keep it in place.

Sorry to keep asking questions. It's great to hear a different way of doing it. I resorted to fabric-type elastoplast on the ends of my boning to stop it poking through and being uncomfortable to wear!
