But it may be easier to get a dress pattern you like the bodice on and then alter the skirt to get the puffball shape .....here is a sewing forum thread about making an existing skirt into a puffball

Whichever way you decide to go with the pattern, I remember them the last time around...it can be easier to look after them if the inner skirt lining bit (that is attached to the bottom hem to make the outer skirt puffy) ISN'T permanently attached to the dress at the waist, otherwise they are impossible to iron .


Looking forward to seeing the heart dress though, sounds fun!
