TSF POSTING ETIQUETTE

How to behave
Be polite, helpful and well-mannered always.
- No personal attacks, flaming or name calling and any may result in removal of the member.
- No offensive remarks
- Avoid text language and slang.
- Remember that writing with capital letters is the same as shouting.

The Sewing Forum (TSF) is Family Friendly so all topics, content and words must be suitable for children to see.

Be careful with words, meanings and how you give your opinion to prevent causing offence. TSF is on public view worldwide so remember words acceptable in one culture may have a different meaning in another and may not be written in the context that you read them.

Avoid posting personal, private, identifiable, or embarrassing information. Think safety and remember your posts will be read by other members and can be seen by anyone on the internet.

Be patient. Your post may not be answered immediately.


Threads and Posts
Use the Search Facility – Search in the dark blue bar at the top of the page. the question or contribution may be on TSF already.

Start new threads under the board heading that best suits the topic.
Duplicated posts will be removed or merged.

Keep titles short and relevant - instead of 'How do I line a jacket' try using 'Lining a Jacket'

Stay on the topic of the thread. Start a new thread if you want to introduce a new topic.

When quoting from a previous post, quote only the text relevant to your post and delete the remainder.

Use the spellchecker. It helps people to understand what you say and correct spelling improves Search results. The spellchecker
is in the top Right Hand Corner above the Smilies.

Use the Forum Default Font – Verdana 2pt Black (required for readability and maximum numbers of posts per page) Changes will be moderated.

Respect Copyright. Anything that violates any copyright restrictions must not be used.

Concerned about a thread, post, private message? Report the post or contact the Moderators / Administrator immediately. Do not complain on the thread or start a new thread to complain.

Concerned that your thread/post has been moderated? Contact the Moderators / Administrator directly via the Contact Us link in the dark blue bar at the bottom of the screen. Do not complain on the thread or start a new thread to protest, you should deal with the matter with the Moderators and Admin.

Avoid private conversations within your threads. Please use the Private Message facility or instant messaging outside of TSF.


Your User Profile
You may use an inoffensive avatar on your personal profile.
- No logos, advertising, promotion, trading or product names, labels, allowed in avatars.

You may attach a signature that will appear under all your posts.
- No links, pictures, avatars, banners, logos or promotional slogans allowed in signatures.
- No moving or flashing objects allowed in signatures.
- Any signatures that are considered to be large and distracting will be reduced in size or removed
- No indirect advertising or promotion

Advertising and Business

No spamming
No advertising or marketing anywhere on TSF except in the section called The Trading Post.
