Ideas for difficult stash fabric
I have been going through my fabric stash and rediscovered two pieces of polyester crepe. I really prefer natural fibres, but these are two rather nice pieces and it would seem a shame not to try to use them. The problem is that they're very thin - they would just about make it for a blouse, with something under it, but not a dress. One piece is 1.50x1.40 and a pretty 1930's type print on a white background; I might just squeeze a short-sleeve blouse out of that. The other piece I thrifted and it is huge! It is a lovely brown, but I can't see myself ever needing more than one brown polyester crepe blouse!
Any suggestions? I have no one close I could give these pieces to, and I would hate to see them end up languishing on the shelf of the charity shop. Would there be any alternative use for this rather thin crepe? Lining, perhaps? Though it looks like it would stick to tights. Bias binding for everything I will ever make in my life is all I can think of. Or making muslins for patterns in soft/slippery fabrics.
