Default How do needle classifications like HA - 1SP actually work?

My Janome 644D overlocker says use HA-1SP.

I think that "SP" means a ball point needle, but I don't know what the HA or the 1 in 1SP actually means. I'm not too sure what the SP means, actually.

Although I am particularly interested in my own overlocker's needles, I would also like to know about these classifications generally.

(I understand that the numbers such as "14/100" refer to metric and imperial sizes, it's just the letters I don't understand.)
